Terms of Service

By accessing or using Aurascan, including the website at www.aurascan.fit and the Aurascan mobile apps for iOS and Android, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Aurascan. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Sign-in is provided through our authentication partner Clerk, including email/password and the Apple and Google social-sign-in options. Notify us promptly at legal@aurascan.fit if you believe your account has been compromised.

Aurascan offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Subscriptions purchased through our website are billed by Stripe; subscriptions purchased inside the iOS or Android apps are billed by Apple or Google under their respective store terms. To cancel, manage your subscription in your profile (web) or in your App Store / Play Store account (mobile). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not generally offer prorated refunds, except where required by law or by Apple’s or Google’s store policies. If you reside in California, you may cancel an auto-renewing subscription within three business days of the initial purchase for a full refund as required by the California Automatic Renewal Law. If you reside in the EU or UK, you may have additional cancellation rights under applicable consumer-rights legislation; contact us at legal@aurascan.fit to exercise them.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or copy our content at scale without written permission
• Use the service to harass, defame, or harm others
• Attempt to breach security, probe for vulnerabilities, or bypass rate limits
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Create accounts by automated means or impersonate another person
• Use the service for any illegal purpose, including providing or relying on outputs as professional medical, dietary, or pharmaceutical advice

Ingredient analysis, per-organ impact descriptions, and evidence-tier labels shown in Aurascan are produced by a large language model (Google Gemini, via Google Cloud Vertex AI) and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. We tag each impact with an evidence tier. For example, “mechanistic” means biological plausibility only, with no clinical evidence, to help you weigh the strength of the underlying research. Do not rely on AI-generated content for medical, allergy, or dietary decisions; verify with primary sources and a qualified professional. We make no warranty that the information is accurate, complete, or current.

The Aurascan name, logo, design system, written content, app code, and backend code are our property (or licensed to us). You may not use them without written permission, except for fair-use quotation with attribution. Brand names, product names, and barcode data shown in the app belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the scanned product.

If you submit content (feedback, waitlist email, profile information, survey responses), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content to operate, improve, and secure the service. You represent that you have the right to submit it.

We provide the service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including features, subscription tiers, or individual accounts that violate these Terms. We are not liable for downtime, data loss, or interruptions, except as required by applicable consumer-protection law.

You can stop using Aurascan at any time by signing out, uninstalling the apps, and (if you wish to remove your data) deleting your account from the in-app Profile screen or by emailing privacy@aurascan.fit. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, governing law) will continue to apply.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aurascan and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including any health, dietary, or financial outcomes connected to information shown in the app. Our total aggregate liability will not exceed $100 or the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify and hold Aurascan harmless from any claim, damages, or expense arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless otherwise required by local consumer-protection law applicable to you (for example, EU or UK consumer-rights directives may grant you the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your habitual residence).

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the site or in-app. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
